Congratulations to Roger Martin - the 2010 Canadian Contender Champion
On August 27 to 29, the Contender fleet had their Canadian Open at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour in Kingston, Ontario.
It was a very closely contested regatta with the championship being in question right until the last day of racing.
The famous Kingston thermal kicked in all three days which meant there was no drifting and everyone was flat out on the wire. We also had two very new sailors to the fleet, who enjoyed the windy and wavey conditions and perfectly race courses.

Contender sailors,
We will be having the 2009 Contender Midwinters once again at the St.
Petersburg Yacht Club in St.
Petersburg, Florida, USA. The dates are set for January
9, 10, & 11th. We will be part of the Multi-class regatta and the Notice of
Race can be found at http://www.spyc.org/club/scripts/view/view_insert.asp?pg=PR&GRP=5564&IID=31271&NS=PR&APP=106
If you need housing please let me know soon, and the grapefruit, lemon
and orange trees will be ready for picking! The last I heard we will have
sailors from California and Canada, and we now have three boats in Florida! Hope you can
make it for some good sailing.
Thanks,
Ethan
